Down the Road - Ponies of The Outerbanks

Whenever we have the opportunity to visit the Outerbanks of North Carolina, we always take one or two days to find and photograph these magnificent animals.

Somehow, they have survived the environment even with all the folks that they come in contact with.

Down the Road - Uncle Johnny’s Front Porch

Like many of you, I have fond memories of the front porch from growing up with a large family. I remember those special times of sitting out with family at Uncle Johnny’s and Aunt Dean’s house and shucking corn or snapping green beans. Sometimes, we would just sit out on a cool evening and  listen to family members play music or tell stories of their past.

This picture used to be an old country store in Sandy Ridge, North Carolina. Looking at all the different things on the porch takes me back to another time and place that I have precious memories of. I call this one “ Uncle Johnny’s Front Porch” .

Down the Road - Down East

A few years back we were on vacation in the beautiful town of New Bern , North Carolina. We stopped into a restaurant for breakfast one morning and on the wall behind the cash register was a picture of this scene. I ask the lady at the register where it was taken and she replied it’s on the way to Oriental . So we went out and did some exploring that day and this is the result of our expedition .

Down the Road - JONES GROCERY-MEATS-FEEDS-FUEL'S

Terry Spencer a great friend of mine mentor and awesome photo tour guide! Terry often comes  to mind because this is the kind of capture he lives for. I have learned so much from my brother in Christ and he is special to me.

This is JONES GROCERY Lewisville, North Carolina . It is now closed and considered to be a historical site. There is a historical marker at the site. This structure was built in 1926 but this is not the original store which use to be across the road.

Rusty Works

I was fortunate enough to attend a workshop on automotive rust and decay. This has always been an intriguing subject for me and somewhat of a challenge to photograph. These are just a few of the shots I worked on in the workshop.

Down the Road - The Last Whistle Stop

Looking into the past and going back decades ago you will find North Carolinas ghost of the past. The old depot sits silently waiting on the last whistle.

Rusty Works - The Commander

The old Studebaker sit behind a local shop that I have been in and out of many times over the years.

It looked like something that should have been run trough a car crusher years ago, On this day I came out of the shop and the light was hitting the back of the car just perfectly, All the color and the texture just lit up like a Christmas tree.

I print this on a Hahnemuhle 13 x19" FineArt Inkjet Paper. I use a premium quality archival paper and the image size is 9 x16", other sizes are available.

This image would also look great printed on metal.  I could arrange that but cost and shipping would be higher.
